Queensland Regional Achievement & Community Awards – Finalists

LogoReay Services is proud to announce the three finalists contending for the 2014 Energy and Sustainability Award, these are conducted by the Queensland Regional Achievement & Community Awards Program.

Reay Services Group sponsors this award as we believe it is Industry’s opportunity to promote the resources and effort that business undertakes to protect the environment by implementing practical measures to deliver sustainable practices within the energy sector.

The Energy and Sustainability Award Finalists are:

  • Anglo American- Dawson Mine Rehabilitation Plan- MOURA
  • Oaky Creek Coal – A Glencore Managed Operations – TIERI
  • Teys Australia Pty Ltd

In 2013, the Award was taken out by Sojitz Minerva Coal Mine located near Emerald, Queensland.  Environmental management is a core aspect of Sojitz Coal Mining’s values. The company is committed to reducing its environmental impacts and operating in an environmentally sustainable way and contributing to the long term development of the local communities that surround the operation. Environmental management plans are in place across the operation. These plans highlight the steps taken to minimise environmental impacts at their mining operations.  The mine demonstrated that the creation of the Avocet Nature Reserve delivered protection to save the endangered Flashjack Wallaby.

Winners will be announced at the Gala Presentation Dinner on Saturday 8th November 2014 on the Sunshine Coast at the Events Centre, Caloundra.
